Never have to deal with a lost house key again...

Living with my bunch lost keys are a never ending saga. On any given day someone doesn't remember where they left their keys and I end up giving them my "extra" house key only to have that one never returned, necessitating me to take another trip to Home Depot. Where I pray I get the guy who actually cuts keys the right way so I don't have to discover the key doesn't work and then return.

Seeing this fingerprint door lock, my first thought was it was going to be too expensive. It's not, models start at under $200.00 which realistically given the amount of time and energy I spend in dealing with lost keys might end up saving me money. Not to mention the security of knowing I don't have to worry about who ended up with the lost house key. Next I wondered how many fingerprints could be programmed in, more than enough for my household. The one model I looked at had the ability to store up to 100 fingerprints. What would happen if there was some type of failure? It appears the doors also can be opened by a traditional key and also by using a pin number.

Another feature is a low voltage alert so that you know when it's time to replace the batteries. Even better yet is the master fingerprint is needed to add or remove fingerprints so one of the kids can't get cute and decide to delete someone else's finger print...
