Grokodile Blog Directory...Cute gator but...

When blogging and trying to build exposure for your blog, you want to be sure you are taking advantage of the concept of a blog directory. By merely joining and listing your blog you increase your ability to reach visitors which can lead to an increased page rank and even that elusive alexa boost. What I noticed first up that I liked about Grokodile was their logo, how could anyone resist this cute little guy:

Then I headed off to enter this blog in their directory for Ohio and for Toledo. It looks like I will be the first blogger from Toledo to be signed up. It was kind of confusing at first using their sign up. I first tried the "verify" button and it gave me an error message. Then I went ahead and filled out the information ignoring that and clicked on to continue. It stated a verification message would be sent. However after five minutes, there was still no verification message. I also don't show up under "blogs" but under business because the category option for personal blogs stated "non-commercial" and I do paid posts here, such as this one which is sponsored by Grokodile so the option that seemed most honest was listing this blog under "Business". The site is new so perhaps they'll work the bugs out, so I do recommend people list their blogs and when I get "verified" I'll update here as to how easy it is to try to edit my category.

UPDATE: As promised, the update. When I went back into "edit/manage" my listing I double checked my email as suggested, while it was correct I changed the category of my blog to "blogs" rather than what I had. Just a few moments ago I did receive the email from Grokodile asking me to verify, which I have done. So, despite a tiny bit of a rocky start? All things appear to be a go and the support from Grokodile gets kudos for stopping by to comment here to assist.

Hi,

I'm not sure what happened to your verification email!

Anyway, to help clarify a couple of things, all blogs currently belong in the 'blogs" category. Because we divide down to such small geographic areas we haven't needed to break into subcategories for blogs as of yet.

If your email somehow got lost, you can certainly go in, retrieve your listing and then change your location to blogs. A new (much abbreviated) email with a verification link should be generated when you do that.

Let me know if you have any questions (perhaps using the feedback link on the Grokodile site).

Regards,
Andrew

P.S. Perhaps a double check of the email address would be in order just to be safe?

Thank you for stopping by, I was able to access my blog information by using "verify" and my email address there is correct. I still have not received the verification email though. I did fix my error in the classifiation issue.

I appreciate your willingness to visit and comment.
