Chachachanges....

AT&T is a well known name, then they decided to change their cell phone service to the name Cingular then it became rather well known on it's own right. Now it's being said that it's being changed back to AT&T. What do you think about the changing back and forth of Cingular/AT&T? Personally I'd think they should just decide on a name and leave it as it is, a brand name has been developed under Cingular and I view the name changes the same as I do when a label is slapped on something that says "New and Improved". Take the release of the new iPhone, people are talking about Cingular being the first one to release it, granted most cell phone users are savy enough to realize that AT&T and Cingular are one and the same but name recognition is very important. To me the additional advantage of Cingular was it was a unique name and you automatically thought of cell phones, you don't immediately think cell phones when you hear AT&T, you think long distance, house phones, internet services and then cell phones. I suppose the bright side is AT&T is easier to search on line since I’ve seen people misspell Cingular, so that could be a major plus especially when it comes to people waiting to get their hands on the new iPhone.

My husband is dropping hints he wants the new iPhone and to people like him it's probably not going to matter if it is Cingular or AT&T stamped on the phone, however, it will be interesting to see what happens as far as the market reports a few months after this switch is made. Whatever is the end result of the name switch with Cingular / AT&T, Wirefly who is the sponsor of this post will continue to bring you the plans and the phones that you are looking for.
