All too often a gift of money is given for a first communion, however for me, I like to purchase a small gift to accompany a monetary gift. There are so many different types of first communion gifts to choose from that it is fairly simple to do this. My reasoning is once the money has been spent, the child does have a small momento of the memory of the gift....
