Major retail assocations and FBI join forces...
In a move that is rare for an industry that never before shared data, two of the nations largest retail assocations have made the smart move of banding together to share data to fight organized retail theft. They are being assisted in this by the FBI since organized theft rings steal more than $30 billion annually. This has been reported as affecting 81% of retailers and it adds to the costs we as consumer's pay. More information can be found in this AP News article but personally I think this has been long overdue and will be a very effective way in dealing with these organized theft rings.
