Pet insurance has come a long way...

There was a time when if you mentioned the topic of pet insurance, chances are people would laugh at you and think you were very pet oriented to the point of being a crazy cat ladyish sort. Yet with medical technology more and more people are able to access medical care for their pets which can extend their life. However, most of this care is not inexpensive, which is why more people are turning to pet health insurance as a necessary purchase. We experienced a situation years ago where one of our cats required a very expensive surgery. In our case the vet was able to work with us to make payments but that is not always an option and had it not been for our long term relationship with that particular vet our cat would have died.
