This was a very interesting read on CNN, General Motors revealed two drivable concept cars with new engines that use diesel technology to increase mileage without some of the downsides to a total diesel engine, it's not a new idea, other companies are working on the HCCI engine. The full term behind HCCI is homogeneous charge compression ignition.
Two concept cars were released, Saturn Aura and an Opel Vectra and it will be interesting to follow what happens as far as consumer interest as well as how the other major automotive makers respond to this release.
