Tired of outdoor only pictures

I've been putting off the reality, that it is time to start looking at digital cameras, from being used and abused by many family members my digital camera does not want to take good indoor pictures anymore. I'm left with either horribly fuzzy indoor pictures or semi good outdoor pictures...
