Avoiding speed traps electronically

I remember when the radar detector first came out and it would be pretty obvious who had one when you were driving on the highway. While I do believe people should not drive at a speed high enough that they could endanger themselves or others, there was also a time when certain highways had a higher speed limit than 55 miles per hour.
