There are no good sweatshops...

It's really hard to believe that companies don't seem to ever check to see what types of working conditions exist when they subcontract out work to foreign countries where they know sweatshop labor conditions exist. Once the media picks up on the story then magically those like the Gap claim they knew nothing about it and makes this type of a claim:
Gap said it first learned of the child labor allegations last week and discovered the sweatshop was being run by a subcontractor that a vendor had hired in violation of Gap's policies. The product made there will be destroyed so it cannot be sold in Gap stores, company spokesman Bill Chandler said.

Sure, and that deals with the reality of what will happen to the children that were already reportedly sold and beaten exactly how? Had it not been for places like the Gap using sweatshop labor the situation where children were used for a larger profit would have never happened in the first place...
