When I was growing up, summer camp was something that your parents threatened you with, when you weren't being irritating enough to be threatened with a military boarding school. Friends would come back with tales of horrid food, hard beds and blistered feet in forced hikes thru woods full of mosquitoes and we would shudder thinking how close we came to sharing their fate.
So when I heard about texas summer camps, I pictured the same only this time children walking thru lone areas with the requisite dead animal head with horns rather than woods full of mosquitoes. This lasted for not even a half a second, when I saw the activities, the amazing amount of different choices these campers have is astounding. Then...I clicked on their photo page. Let me tell you, it made me wish I was 12 again...
There is still hope for this "now I want to be a camper", I discovered they also offer family camp weekends. I highly recommend heading over to visit the Lonehollow website, it looks like it would be the perfect summer camp for boys and girls and why it is a sponsored post...
