Protecting your child on the internet and the issue of trust...

One way many people are turning to especially when it comes to monitoring their children on the internet is keylogging. Businesses also use keylogging to track employee computer use. Similar to making the decision on using a GPS tracking system on your children or even a spouse it comes down to the issue of trust. If trust has already been broken and there is a valid concern using something like keylogging can give you either a) answers or b) peace of mind that your worries are unfounded.

When it comes to children and the internet the issue of trust is not necessarily directed at mistrusting them, there are many adults out there who are adept at preying on children. Even for the parent that tries to supervise their child on the internet, in most situations your child, especially during the teenage years will have access to the computer without you being physically present. Adult predators know how to encourage your child to not tell you about them, I've already personally experienced having grown men attempt to contact my youngest daughter thru her MySpace. We've also experienced friends of hers who have parents who do not monitor their internet who have posted personal identifying information creating a situation where the parent had to be informed what their child was doing. In the end, the decision to use keylogging could be one that you never regret...
