Cell phones okay...CD Players no...
Several weeks ago my 17 year old was in a car accident that necessitated her being taken by ambulance to the hospital. She ended up being just fine but when she asked for her cell phone while we were waiting for her to be checked out, I told her that she couldn't have it since they were forbidden to be on in the hospital and that she wouldn't want to be responsible for killing someone with a pacemaker in her rush to have to IM someone. I was half serious and half in jest because I had heard that was the reason why cellphones are forbidden in hospitals. Well, it turns out that is not true though I have to wonder if during the study someone wondered, "and you want to put me at risk because..." And that's pretty interesting about the devices messing each other up like that - totally weird new techno society we live in, eh?
