Life is like a game of billiards where sometimes the shot you think will get the ball into the pocket...Is a scratch...
Seriously though, I used to play billards every weekend, and sometimes during the week, it's actually how I met my second husband. I was dating a man who was a semi-professional billards player and I beat my second husband rather badly, which led to us talking, exchanging phone numbers and then...
I don't however blame the game for the way that marriage turned out, and I've always dreamed of having a large enough home where I could have my own billards table. The game is a great one for people of all levels of skill though it's much preferable to play with those who are a similar level (unless of course you are the best player of the bunch). We are lucky enough here in Toledo to have several places that specialize in billards play, with a nice selection of tables so wait time to play is reduced.
Similar to as how I grew up playing, my children have grown up knowing the basics, it's a nice way to not only unwind but to spend time together.
