How media can impact real life
True story, we went to go to the pet store earlier to pick up some shampoo for our one dog who has skin issues, I was impatient to get to the store and get back home because I had work to do. My husband after saying he was ready after finding out we were going to the pet store went to change his shirt. I thought this was odd until he told me it was because he was wearing his Michael Vick jersey and he didn't want to wear it out in public...

Dessert before dinner!
While some of my family is in diet mode, obsessing over how they'll look in their swim wear this summer or focusing on which diet pills do they think works (when not all of them even really need to worry about a diet), I am feeling the opposite. Sure, I could be thinner, sure I could take better care of myself and exercise even more than the two to three miles I am walking every day.
Yet...What good is life if you don't have a bit of fun and enjoy what you are eating, which doesn't have to be the diet fad of the moment. Enjoy dessert before dinner every now and then, savor the moment...If you feel really guilty? Eat a salad for lunch tomorrow...

It's time to start thinking...Sandals....
While I will miss my almost knee high red suede hippy boots and my fuzzy socks, I have to admit that I really am a barefoot kind of woman, preferring sandals to boots as soon as the weather is warm enough to not have cold feet. Though some of my family members wear their sandals year round, one particular flip flop fetish family member wears hers in the snow. That's not me...
I look for comfort in my sandals, and there are some pretty cool styles out there that have caught my attention. Like this particular gladiator style sandal:

It also comes in black...What I like about Zappos is the selection, they have a great deal of sandals that don't have the thong which I can wear but I've never been a huge fan of. What I also like about the site is the fit survey, because it provides helpful information such as "felt a half size smaller than marked" this lets you know that if you are debating between that 8 or that 8 and a half? Which one to go for and creates a happier shoe moment where you don't have to wait for a return/replacement.

A new Billy Jack movie
I'm a fan of the classic Billy Jack collection, I actually own all of the movies on DVD including the last one "Billy Jack goes to Washginton" so it was with interest that I watched the below video clip about a new "Billy Jack" and I recommend watching this. If you don't know who Billy Jack is? You'll learn, and if you are a fan? You'll enjoy it.

A confusing mix of modern and classic...
My house is a mix of many styles, I tend to prefer modern furniture but my art work and decorative style runs to the classic. Most of the art work that I have is reprints of classic paintings such as "The Storm" with the exception of gifts of art my children have given me and photographs my husband and I have taken that were blown up into larger framed pieces. Yet since those focus on pictures taken in the cemeteries of New Orleans, they fit in with a more classic style. Yet for some reason I don't like classic furniture, nor do I like a start modern wall coloring treatment...

Storm shutters...
One thing I've noticed in some of the recent movies we've watched is the use of exterior shutters being used to give an older abandoned home that even "creepier" feel with the storm shutters being shut and having broken slats. In this part of Northwestern Ohio, most of the exterior shutters that homes have are merely for decoration and are not full storm shutters that can actually be closed. Yet in other parts of the country, shutters that do actually "shut" are much more common place.
It's believed that they first were used in ancient Greece in order to provide light control, ventilation and protection from the heat and it is thought they were first created in stone with fixed louvers.

When not in tech mode what the word memory does...
Most of the time I am in blogger or tech mode but a little known secret about me is I love musicals, so when I hear or see the word memory I don't automatically think about computer memory. The beginning stanza of the song from Cats comes into my mind. Years ago I was lucky enough to be able to see the Off Broadway production of Cats, that's another memory that I'll never forget.

Fondue over frisky...
As many of you who know me would attest, I'm not "normal" when it comes to what I think is the perfect gift. Take a gift of fine lingerie as an example, I'm not the frisky dress up type, so while I have a nice collection of those types of items from years past, I'd just as soon receive something like a fondue pot. I have friends that would be insulted with the fondue pot who would of course be much happier with a frilly feminine item and yes, in the past we have traded...

Alive and kicking...kind of
I am working on doing some local political things that have kept me off of the blog as much as I'd like the past few days. One of those things is I could be running for a small elected office within the Democratic Party. In addition to the political things I've been spending quite a bit of time with my grand-daughter, which is always a joyful experience.

Next addiction, coffee...
I'm a huge fan of coffee, regular coffee, espresso and cappuccino, which makes a machine like the Rancilio Silvia a very appealing one. It has some very nice features and from all reports makes excellent espresso cup after cup...They took their popular commercial design and created a machine for the home market.
Which one to believe today from the horoscope file...
Concerns about financial issues are bothering you and making you restless. Broken promises and delay in expectable income only making it worse. It seems that nothing goes as you expected, but soon all will be fine.
Or...
You will need to utilize your ability to evaluate a situation accurately today. There will be some misunderstandings going on, and you could help to clear up the confusion. Be ready to serve as the calm, clear voice of reason and set things straight. Maintain all the objectivity you can, and be fair in how you assess things. Even if you wish the truth were something different from what it is, you owe it to everyone involved to call this one like you see it.
How about neither one sounds like an appealing scenario though I do admit the first one is true, I'm growing tired of a certain blogging company that's supposed to pay every 30 days not fulfilling their promises. Considering most of the other companies out there manage to pay on time and one even pays early it's obvious some can manage to at least do the basics.

Adventures in Baby sitting...
I had my granddaughter for the first "real" babysitting episode this past weekend for several hours. It's amazing how everything baby related comes back to you so quickly even after 13 years of limited contact with a baby. Maybe it's because I'm older and have been through so much that even her tiny fussy moments because she was not feeling well were not hard to deal with at all. The worst part was when the dog got upset with my son for trying to take the baby home, evidently Quilla thought that the baby was there to stay...

This happens almost daily...
There are many creative people all around you right now, and more than one of them are using their creativity to manipulate the truth. The lines they are blurring are leaving you a bit confused, which is only natural. This might be a very good time to step back from the group conversation and think things through on your own for a while. These people aren't trying to manipulate you, but they are trying to prevent you from seeing things on your own terms.
That's my horoscope for today. My primary blog covers local political topics so on a really regular basis I come across people who present their spin on things...hoping I'll agree with them and blog accordingly...

Another opposite day...
Everywhere you go will be crowded and active today, so get ready for some sensory overload. To some extent, you'll get a rush from the crowds. But when you need a break, you'll really need a break -- so pay attention to your feelings as the day progresses. All the activity may challenge your ability to concentrate on a developing issue with a friend. Put off making your next move until things settle and you can get some quiet time to figure out exactly what you want.
Actually today was a quiet day at home and the only time I left was to go to the grocery store, then I came home and cooked chili to have with the left over spaghetti noodles from last night...

However...I haven't had fun today...
Somewhere out there perhaps another Pisces is...When you're having fun, everything is painless, including sacrifice. So be careful if someone approaches you in the midst of your mirth today to make you a business offer you can't refuse. You can refuse, and you should refuse. You're too smart to fall for any of their smooth talk, but you may still get quite a kick out of their song and dance routine. Poke holes in their pitch and watch them deflate. Being smarter that everyone else can be quite fun, no?

I guess I am supposed to think...
I'm not sure why it seems the day my horoscope tells me I should be deciding something are the days when the last thing I want to do is use my brain for more than deciding which pair of socks to wear...
Every day offers its choices, but today is more than just a series of small decisions. Today is a fork in the road in one of your relationships. It could be regarding your role at work, a struggling friendship, or a developing romance. When you're asked to choose or commit to a direction, pick the path that offers you the greatest challenge -- you are ready to go there. The first steps may be frightening, but you'll gain a purposeful stride sooner than you think.

Okay then...let's hope this is true
Some of the people around you are moving into exciting changes, and their happiness is contagious. Volunteer to help them with any finishing touches and get in on the good karma they're enjoying. You are as happy for them as you would be for yourself in this situation, and your generous spirit is helping them enjoy their success. Not everyone can be this big hearted, and they appreciate your support. This is a growth phase for your relationships.
Sounds promising!

Okay...maybe it's time for me to do something...
This was an interesting one given some of the things happening in my life:
You have a calling, and signs are emerging around you that reinforce that fact. People are giving you feedback that is genuine -- they're not just praising you for their health! Have faith in yourself and understand that you're capable of amazing things. The worst mistake you can make today is to limit yourself. This applies to new relationships, career challenges and even business opportunities. Act on your ideas and climb out of your shell.
It just goes to show you at times your horoscope can prove to be at least worthy of creating discussion and at times controversy.
