I started thinking about this yesterday as one of my daughters needed to borrow a hammer, we had bought her the same two gifts we've purchased each one of our bunch as they set off on their own, a simple home repair kit, that included the basics like a hammer, assorted screwdrivers, pliers and a box cutter as well as an emergency car kit that included flares, jumper cables and a small first aid kit. Turns out one of her friends borrowed her hammer, and had not returned it.
It started me reflecting on how few of us try to fix things anymore, many seem to feel it's easier to either throw it away or call someone. Of course at times there are repairs that the average person can not manage but other times? It could be a rather simple fix as opposed to tossing it in the trash...
