Gas here in Toledo dropped to under $2.00 a gallon at some stations in town, which is the lowest it's been in quite some time. The national average is now at $2.46, dropped 4.1 cents from $2.504 a day before, according to the survey released by motorist group AAA.
Gas last sold in the $2.50 range in mid-March 2007. The average price dropped below $3 a gallon on Sat., Oct. 18, for the first time in nearly nine months.
Gas prices have fallen for 45 straight days, dropping $1.39 since the last hurricanes in September. This is good news for consumers but some of the prices of items at the grocery store that increased due to the higher gas prices have not yet begun to decline.
