One of my daughters decided to buy a laptop from BestBuy online. It seemed like a great deal, in part because it was a refurbished laptop. She paid extra for the expedited shipping, the laptop arrived two days later.
So what's the problem? They did not include the AC/adapter part of the system that is required to a) charge it b) use it when it's not charged.
When I called on Wednesday I was told they were going to have to re-ship the full order out again, then I was told that the order had to be sent to a special unit within Best Buy that would contact me, after I pointed out re-shipping the whole order made no sense. I asked if parts just could send one out, she didn't think so, she said they would call me within a day or two.
Today is Saturday, nothing. So I call again.
The next person I spoke with told me that parts should be able to help me, I am transferred to parts, where he says it's not something he can help with that I need customer relations. When I get to customer relations they are going to call parts to see if they can do anything.
On Wednesday the phone conversation lasted less than ten minutes. Today I've been on the phone for almost an hour, being on hold for over ten minutes just to get to the first person, then on hold each time for the next one.
Thankfully though the time on the call was long, once I got to the customer relations person, the problem was solved, well at least I hope so. The needed AC adapter will be shipped out Monday. Yet, that didn't really solve the problem with the additional payment that was made for expedited shipping or the fact that the part is not coming for 5 to 7 business days. Had it been done this way Wednesday? It would have reduced the days necessary. I asked Wednesday if there was not some way they could just send the needed cord/unit through parts...
Problems happen, things are not included in orders, but when someone pays for expedited shipping (or even when they don't) four days should not pass without some type of action. The sad thing is had the cord been included, it would have been a quick and easy shopping experience...
