43% have less than $10k for retirement

The headline is shocking to some, but not shocking to me. Most of the people I know have no retirement savings at all beyond social security and perhaps some money invested in a 401(k). With many of those who had 401(k) accounts now in a position where their employer no longer contributes.

While the CNN article is interesting, the reality most of those 43% live in is most likely the reality many of us know. There is not enough money to pay current living expenses, so savings is impossible.
