Billions spent on diet plans...

Not long ago Business Week reported that Americans spend over 40 billion dollars a year on diet plans and diet products. The marketing behind the weight loss industry is a huge one from helping to design an attractive product name, curvatrim as one example would be more appealing than "fat killer" to most. Then the advertising aspect of selling a product because lets face it, no matter how good a product claims to be, if people don't learn about it, it's not going to sell. Celebrity endorsements of diet products are one way to market items, it keys in on our desire to look as fabulous as the current star of the moment. The unfortunate part is all too often the celebrity doesn't use the product so smart consumers should rely on medical advice and realistic reviews...
