What's preventing action on tax cut legislation?

The answer is a simple one, election year politics. It's unfortunate that the expiration of the tax cuts is taking place during an election cycle. It's the time when partisan politics takes over and little action is taken. It's one of the flaws in the election process for the US House of Representatives, since they are elected every two years, instead of every four like the Senate, it increases the rhetoric.
