The Mahoning Valley Development Group (www.MahoningValleyDowns.com) is proud to announce the plans to build Ohio's Eighth Horse Racetrack, Mahoning Valley Downs and Resort which will be a $300 million dollar world class resort constructed on over 100 acres, Mahoning Valley Downs and Resort will undertake a massive construction to create a world class facility that will seek visitors nationwide. It will be a thoroughbred racetrack along with a casino with an eye towards the expansion of VLT's (slots) to racetracks.
The full plans will be announced at a news conference on Tuesday, January 18 at 11 AM at Mr. Anthony's Banquet Center, 7440 South Ave. Boardman (Youngstown), Ohio 44512. Dr. Bradford Pressman and Rick Lertzman who represent Mahoning Valley Development Group will be present to unveil the rendering of the project, discuss the area where the project will be located and answer any questions.
"This is an exciting project that will be an incredible magnet for the Mahoning Valley to attract new jobs, new industry, and will have a ripple effect throughout the Valley. Importantly, we believe that we will create over 1000 jobs in the construction of the property and 1500-2000 permanent jobs in its operation," said Rick Lertzman, Chairman of the Mahoning Valley Development Group.
Dr. Bradford Pressman continued, "We have heard rumors that Penn Gaming was considering relocating Toledo's Raceway Park or Beulah Park in Columbus. We believe that it would be quite unfortunate to take away all of those jobs from Toledo or Columbus. Our group has designed a plan to expand Ohio's racing industry, add new jobs and create the eighth racetrack in Ohio. We have carefully checked with the Ohio Racing Commission over the past 2 years that we are following all their regulations. We fully believe that we fall into the parameters and look forward to applying for the eighth license in creating Mahoning Valley Downs and Resort."
Mahoning Valley Downs & Resort© includes an exciting thoroughbred horseracing, world-class casino, five star resort including a full scale hotel, international spa, championship golf course, live entertainment and theaters, shopping complex, dining experiences & much more!
MVDG plans to build one of the finest resort facilities in the Midwest employing Ohioans (and paying prevailing wages) in both the construction and operation of the complex. We estimate the creation of over 1000 jobs in the construction of the resort and 1500-2000 jobs at the $300 million dollar world class resort that will attract visitors nationwide and will be a magnet to invigorate the local economy.
