Yahoo gives up auctions in North America....

The premise being "If you can't compete in the space, it makes no sense to be there," Yahoo will be ending it's auction and photo services in North America and concentrating on other services for users. Some of you who have followed the tech business closely will remember this:
Yahoo's reshuffling mirrors some of the suggestions made last fall by one of the company's own executives, Brad Garlinghouse, who had urged the management to pull the plug on some less popular or overlapping services in a widely distributed internal memo. Garlinghouse's missive became known as the "Peanut Butter Manifesto" because it argued Yahoo had spread itself too thin.

Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan users of the auction? Don't despair you will still have the Yahoo auction site...
