Life is harder without a good credit score

Unfortunately the title of this thread is true, because there are a huge number of things in your life that are effected by your credit score, everything from what car insurance rate you pay to at times even the ability to get a job are tied to your credit history. There is no magic cure but there are at times ways to accomplish credit repair without something drastic like bankruptcy, which in reality does not really improve credit it makes you start all over with a black mark against you and is not always the fresh start some say it is.

With the recent credit crunch and the tightening of credit policies it's more important than ever to find out what your credit score is and to look to see what you can do to improve credit score numbers. I'm always surprised at the number of people that are not even sure what their credit score is, though it is made a bit more difficult since while the three major credit companies do offer a free credit report each year, they do not give you your credit score for free. That's something I'd like to see change...
