Jeanne Allen Named One of Working Mother's Most Powerful Moms in Education
Education reform a prominent component of latest list
The Center for Education Reform is proud to announce that President Jeanne Allen has been named to Working Mother magazine's list of the ten 'Most Powerful Moms in Education'. The editors of Working Mother praised Jeanne's goal of turning parents into activists for their children's education as well as her work to frame education policy on the local, state and national level.
"I'm honored to be recognized alongside some of the most notable working mothers in the education world," said Allen. "This recognition points to a shifting national focus towards reforming our education system and providing strong school options for parents and their kids, no matter where they live."
In addition to Jeanne Allen, the president of MIT, the dean of the Duke University School of Medicine, a public schools chancellor, the founder of a charter school network, and the president of Barnard College were also honored.
Jeanne Allen has been President of The Center for Education Reform since its founding in 1993, and works tirelessly to empower parents and community leaders to advocate for more and better school options for their students. She is a much sought-after media analyst and has advised state and federal lawmakers on education policy for more than 20 years.
